This Week: Allie Pennetti, ALTUS-HPO
Are you a Pittsburgh native? If not, what brought you to the Pittsburgh area? I am a Pittsburgh native; I’ve been here my whole life.
What are your three favorite movement activities in the Pittsburgh area? Obviously, number one is being at ALTUS-HPO; since I’ve been working here, my body has completely changed; I’ve put on 7 pounds of muscle, and I’m sure there’s more coming from there. Second, I’d probably have to say jiu jitsu; I go to a place in Lawrenceville, True Believer Jiu Jitsu. Third would definitely be walking my bulldogs in South Park or Mt. Lebanon.
Describe your fantasy movement-focused vacation…cost is not an object…where do you go and what do you do? Jamaica – for swimming, scuba diving, and snorkeling.
What is your go-to weekday breakfast? Your weekend breakfast? I’m not a breakfast eater. I drink coffee…any coffee…good or bad.
What is your favorite thing to eat in Pittsburgh? Note: it does not need to be healthy. Yama Sushi – Mars, PA
What is the most unusual and/or challenging movement activity you’ve done? Would you do it again? Jiu Jitsu, still doing it
What movement activity/event are you looking forward to in the next year? Pan Am Jiu Jitsu competition in September in New York. I’ll be representing ALTUS-HPO and True Believer. I’m working with John (Rossmiller) here on my explosive power.
Would you rather go scuba diving or skydiving? I think you know the answer to that…scuba diving for sure!
What is your favorite recovery or self-care practice? Eating…and Epsom salt baths
What is the one place visitors to Pittsburgh “must” see? Mad Mex
