FitLabPGH Features #23:19 Gracie & Mia of FitLabPGH

FitLabPGH is a podcast about movement and movement opportunities in the Pittsburgh, PA area.  Once a week we also highlight a FitLabPGH
mover
…someone who understands that movement is a lifestyle…not just an activity.  The questions are lightly edited to allow for easy readability.  Click FitLabPGH Features for more info if you want to be featured/know someone who should be featured.

This Week: Gracie & Mia of FitLabPGH

Are you a Pittsburgh native? If not, what brought you to the Pittsburgh area? We were both born in the Pittsburgh area, Washington County, to be more specific.  We each moved to Finleyville when Ben adopted us.

What are your three favorite movement activities in the Pittsburgh area? As indoor cats, we don’t have the opportunity to explore the Pittsburgh area…but we definitely make movement part of our lifestyle! Favorite activities include: wrestling with each other; high intensity interval training (a.k.a., chasing each other around the house); and climbing (the cat condo)

Describe your fantasy movement-focused vacation…cost is not an object…where do you go and what do you do? We’re living our ideal life…we don’t enjoy travel (as it seems to result in trips to the vet)…if we have a fantasy, it would be for more elaborate cat condos…perhaps a floor-to-ceiling model.

What is your go-to weekday breakfast? Your weekend breakfast? We stick with our cat food…chicken flavor is our favorite!

What is your favorite thing to eat in Pittsburgh? Note: it does not need to be healthy. Maple flavor cat Laxatone – it tastes delicious and aids digestion!

What is the most unusual and/or challenging movement activity you’ve done? Would you do it again? It’s a tie between walking across the top of the dog kennels and muscle ups on the cat condo…and, yes, we do both on a regular basis

What movement activity/event are you looking forward to in the next year? Reformer Pilates session with Ben

Would you rather go scuba diving or skydiving? Neither…we’re cats…we will happily sit on windowsills and watch birds dive from the sky, but we will not participate…and we don’t swim!

What is your favorite recovery or self-care practice? Sleep…then a cat nap…then more sleep

What is the one place visitors to Pittsburgh “must” see? The FitLabPGH Birdfeeder
