This Week: Marlee’s Pet Sitting & Dog Walking
Are you a Pittsburgh native? If not, what brought you to the Pittsburgh area? I am a Northern California native. My husband and our three children moved to Pittsburgh four years ago.
What are your three favorite movement activities in the Pittsburgh area? Dog walking is a great way to get outdoors and get your body moving. I also enjoy running around with my kids and kayaking.
Describe your fantasy movement-focused vacation…cost is not an object…where do you go and what do you do? I’d love to backpack through Europe.
What is your go-to weekday breakfast? Your weekend breakfast? I don’t always eat breakfast. Most mornings I drink tea and have an early lunch. However, my favorite breakfast meal is: over-easy eggs on toast with avocado, spinach and fried onions.
What is your favorite thing to eat in Pittsburgh? Note: it does not need to be healthy. Pittsburgh is the epicenter for unhealthy food, but it tastes sooo good! I love Thai food, Italian food and sushi.
What is the most unusual and/or challenging movement activity you’ve done? Would you do it again? Weight lifting. My husband introduced me to lifting weights. It’s a lot of fun, but was very intimidating, initially.
What movement activity/event are you looking forward to in the next year? Yoga. 2020 is all about improving mobility and flexibility for me!
Would you rather go scuba diving or skydiving? Is there a third option? I don’t know that I’m brave enough to jump out of a plane and I don’t like being in big open waters. I’d choose HANG GLIDING. 🙂
What is your favorite recovery or self-care practice? Meditation and journaling.
What is the one place visitors to Pittsburgh “must” see? I highly recommend the bike rentals downtown. My mom came to visit from California and she loved riding down to the point and along the river. We were even able to rent bike trailers so the kids were all able to come. It was a blast!
