FitLabPGH Lab Lessons 48:22 Make Time for Your Pets During the Holiday Season

Labrador Lesson for 12-2-22:

Make Time for Your Pets During the Holiday Season.

The Holiday Season is a busy time, often full of schedule disruptions…not good news for your pets, who like routines. Remember: your pets are not accoutrements, ready to be trotted out for photo ops. Your pets (especially your dogs), want to be around their humans. Remember to make them part of your holiday season.

Whether you have 2 legs or 4, make time for friends and family this holiday season. Make time to move, rest, AND Play.

FitLabPGH Lab Lessons 47:22 Happy Thanksgiving

Labrador Lesson for 11-24-22:

Happy Thanksgiving!

Three things we’re thankful for as Labradors: 1) Cooler weather for trail hikes with less risk of overheating or tick encounters; 2) regular walks with our humans; and 3) the chance that the humans will drop pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) on the floor during Thanksgiving prep

Whether you have 2 legs or 4, take a moment today (and every day) to appreciate the positive things in your life. We wish you a happy, healthy, safe, movement-filled Thanksgiving!

FitLabPGH Lab Lessons 45:22 Ask Permission Before Approaching an Unknown Dog

Labrador Lesson for 11-10-22:

Ask permission before approaching an unknown dog.

As Labradors, we are friendly, energetic dogs, and because we’re also cute, we’re accustomed to humans and other dogs wanting to approach us when we’re out and about. We request that you please ask our humans before reaching out to touch (or sniff) us. This is for your safety as well as ours. If a stranger startles one of us, we might react with a growl…or worse…

Whether you have 2 legs or 4, it’s a good idea to get permission before approaching an unknown dog. Dogs might be leash aggressive…or in training…or afraid of strangers. Asking permission before approaching the dog helps to keep everyone safe.

The videos for week 44 of 2022 there is more to #movement than statistics!! don’t let your guard down #tickssuck & #slowdown #staysafe #havefun

FitLabPGH Lab Lessons 44:22 Don’t Let Weather Discourage Your Movement

Labrador Lesson for 11-3-22:

Don’t let weather discourage you from movement.

As Labradors, we love to get outside for a walk/jog in ANY weather. Granted, we prefer cold, snowy days to hot, humid days, but overall, we just like to get out and move. We understand certain humans are more particular about their weather preferences, but we suggest you look beyond the weather and commit to year-round movement…especially if you have dogs. Tired dogs are happy, healthy dogs, so unless your dog loves the treadmill, get prepared to get outside year-round.

Whether you have 2 legs or 4, get prepared to make movement part of your lifestyle year-round. Pick up the proper gear, then move more, and keep moving, no matter the weather.
